This entry is part 19 of 40 in the series The (d)SP0T

Kuala Lumpur is a very modern and multicultural city that is the heart of Malaysia.  Situated just 4 hours north of Singapore by tollways, it is an intersect for multiple transit systems that span thousands of miles, had the tallest building in the world from 1998 to 2004, has branch offices of many global corporations and is smoggy enough to claim Big City status.  It is separate from the rest of peninsular Malaysia in that it is a 1st world city and is not home to picturesque beaches with calm waters and rosy sunrises an sunsets.  In fact, you have to travel many hours away to find those places.  It has a magic all its own, a unique energy and is definitely one of the greatest cities of the modern world.
