This entry is part 23 of 40 in the series The (d)SP0T

If you drive 1300 miles west of San Francisco on Interstate 80 to 25 south you will arrive in Colorado.  That’s roughly 22 hours of non-stop highways, horizons and pitch blackness.  I recently did this.

Interstate 80 hasn’t ever been what I’d call beautiful.  Sure it has its good points, but most of it is pretty boring.  It’s amazing though how things can be great if you are at the right place at the right time, or you simply get out of your car to take a long look at the land that would otherwise be speeding by at 1.3 miles per minute.  I’m continually amazed at how much beauty there is hidden in plain sight.

Seems like forever we've been driving this same road
